Simple date balls... Vegan

Sometimes it can be hard to stop our food cravings, especially if we’re stressed or when don’t eat healthy food. If you need to eat something sweet, you should try these raw cacao bites, they taste incredibly good and you only need 4 ingredients to make them.

These Vegan Date Energy Balls are a healthy snack that you can whip up in minutes. They call for just a handful of natural ingredients, and taste like chocolate! Even my kids love them (which is saying something). I place mine in the freezer and it is like an ice-cream, Italian kiss

Makes about 15 date balls


  • 1 cup toasted almonds (toasted brings out a better flavour)

  • 1 heaped cup Medjool dates

  • 2 tbsp raw cacao

  • 1 ripe banana

  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseed (optional)


  1. Place the nuts in a food processor or a powerful blender (food processors work better) and blend until they have a crumbly texture.

  2. Add the dates, flaxseed and the cacao and blend again.

  3. Add the banana and blend again

  4. Make balls with your hands. (option to roll them in coconut or cocoa powder)

  5. You can store the bites in a sealed container in the fridge, but I prefer it in the freezer, especially in summer.
